Healing Through Stillness: Laura's New Commission for the Mayo Clinic

Laura’s latest commissioned series for the Mayo Clinic invites viewers into a restorative visual experience designed to complement the clinic's healing environment. Created specifically for quiet rooms and recovery spaces, the collection centers around themes of calm, stillness, and the natural rhythm of water and light.

Drawing from her signature style—soft, immersive landscapes that blur the boundary between observation and feeling—Laura crafted each piece to evoke a sense of breath and space. These works aren’t just decorative. They are functional elements of healing, chosen in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic’s design team to support patient recovery through visual serenity.

"In moments of stress or uncertainty, we instinctively turn toward nature," Laura says. "This series is meant to offer that same sense of grounding and quiet—a pause in the noise."

The works are now permanently installed in select areas of the Mayo Clinic, where they serve both patients and staff as subtle meditative anchors. Whether viewed from a bedside or in passing, each painting is a gentle reminder to slow down, breathe, and reconnect.
