Bespoke Oil Paintings Created for Your Space

Commissions

Creating an original oil painting for your home is a deeply personal collaboration, and I’m honored you’re considering a commissioned piece. My work is rooted in light, movement, and atmosphere, and together we’ll craft a painting that feels intentional, elevated, and uniquely yours.

How We Begin

The process starts by selecting one (or more) of my existing pieces as a creative anchor. This gives us a shared visual language for composition, rhythm, and overall mood. From there, we can refine the palette or make subtle adjustments to harmonize the work with your space.

To help me understand your vision, I love receiving:
• Photos of the room where the painting will live
• Color swatches—paint, fabrics, or materials
• A note about which of my portfolio pieces resonate most

These details allow me to create a piece that feels beautifully integrated, both aesthetically and emotionally.

Size Options

I offer a range of standard sizes as well as fully custom dimensions. If you’re unsure what scale will feel most balanced and impactful in your space, I’m always happy to guide you.

Collaboration

Every commission is a true collaboration, and I want the process to feel enjoyable, thoughtful, and tailored to you. We can work together in whatever way feels most comfortable—through email, scheduled video calls where you can virtually “visit” my studio, or an in-person studio appointment if you're local.

Many clients enjoy seeing works in progress, discussing palette refinement, or simply getting a sense of the atmosphere where their piece is being created. Whether our communication is entirely digital or a mix of video and studio visits, I’ll guide you through each step so the experience feels personal, connected, and seamless.

The Creative Process

Once we’ve finalized the direction—composition, palette, and size—a 50% deposit secures your place in my schedule.

As your painting nears completion, I’ll send detailed photos and video updates. This is your opportunity to request subtle refinements: softening a hue, deepening a shadow, or adjusting the balance of color. My goal is for you to feel completely connected to the finished piece.

Each painting is created with oils and earth-conscious mediums, built in many translucent layers. These require dry time between applications, so most commissions take 5–8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Additional drying time may be needed to ensure safe packing and transport.

Framing

In-studio framing is available upon request. I can also help advise on frame styles that complement both the artwork and your space.

Shipping

Paintings up to 48 x 48 inches (small and medium sizes) are shipped fully stretched via UPS. Each piece is wrapped in glassine, meticulously padded, and packed with exceptional care to ensure safe arrival.

For paintings 48 x 48 inches and larger, you may choose between two elevated delivery options:

Unstretched + Rolled:
The canvas can be expertly removed from the stretcher bars and shipped rolled in a heavy-duty tube. This is a safe and elegant solution for large works. Your local framer can re-stretch the painting upon arrival.

White-Glove Art Courier:
If you prefer your painting delivered fully stretched and ready to hang, I work with two exceptional art courier services that operate throughout the United States. They specialize in fine art transport and provide true white-glove handling. Additional fees apply for this premium service.

If you’re unsure which delivery option is best for your location or the scale of your piece, please reach out—I’m always happy to guide you.

Payment

Once you accept the commission quote, an invoice will be issued. A non-refundable 50% deposit begins the project. The remaining 50% is due upon completion; once payment is received, your painting will be prepared and shipped or sent to your framer.

I use a secure third-party payment processor that accepts all major credit cards, ACH, PayPal, Venmo, and Apple Pay.

The minimum investment for a commissioned piece is $1,000.

Adjustments outside the original scope may incur additional fees. Commissions are non-refundable; however, in the rare event you are not fully satisfied (hasn’t happened yet), you may apply a 25% credit (half of your deposit) toward any available original painting on my website.

Exclusivity

Your commissioned work is entirely one-of-a-kind. I do not create reproductions of commissioned pieces for sale. I retain the right to share images of the work on my website and social media.

I look forward to creating a painting that brings beauty, light, and a sense of place to your home.
